Terms of Service
Last updated: 12 October 2026 · Applies to manuscriptstoodio.com
By using Manuscript Stoodio (the “Service”) you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. What the Service is
Manuscript Stoodio is a writing and drafting aid that helps researchers organise their own notes, find real published literature, and prepare documents for submission. It is not a co-author, editor, peer reviewer, publisher, or provider of professional, legal, medical or statistical advice.
2. Your responsibilities
- You are solely responsible for every manuscript, claim, figure, citation and statement you create, edit, export or submit using the Service.
- You must check all generated text, references, DOIs and data for accuracy before use.
- You must follow your institution’s, funder’s and target journal’s policies.
- You must have the right to use any text or files you upload, and must not upload content that is confidential to others without permission.
3. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to:
- fabricate, falsify or manipulate data, results, images, patient records or clinical trial information;
- plagiarise, or disguise the work of others as your own;
- produce paper-mill content, fake peer reviews or fraudulent submissions;
- break any law, infringe intellectual property, or attempt to disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the Service.
We may suspend access for misuse.
4. No guarantees
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not guarantee journal acceptance, favourable peer review, grant or degree outcomes, any particular similarity score, or that AI-detection tools used by others will classify your text in any particular way. Journal suggestions are informational only.
5. Not medical or professional advice
Nothing produced by the Service is clinical, medical, diagnostic, therapeutic, legal, regulatory or safety advice, and it must not be used to make decisions about patient care or human or animal welfare.
6. Third-party sources
Literature metadata comes from independent public databases (such as OpenAlex, PubMed and Europe PMC). We do not control or guarantee those sources, and links to external sites are provided for convenience only.
7. Intellectual property
You keep all rights to your own content and outputs. The Service’s design, code, name and branding remain the property of its creators. Published articles referenced by the Service belong to their respective authors and publishers.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the creators and operators of Manuscript Stoodio are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, reputation, publication opportunity, academic standing, funding or profits, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the previous twelve months (if any).
9. Indemnity
You agree to hold harmless the creators and operators of the Service from claims arising from your content, your submissions, or your breach of these Terms.
10. Patient and confidential data
You must never upload or submit personally identifiable patient information, protected health information, or confidential research data covered by non-disclosure or institutional agreements.
11. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms; continued use after an update means you accept the new version.
