Legal
Privacy & Zero-Retention Policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026 · Applies to manuscriptstoodio.com
Unpublished research is valuable and confidential. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to the information you use with Manuscript Stoodio.
1. Your manuscripts are not stored by us
Manuscript text, notes, methods, results, uploaded files and generated drafts are kept only in your browser during your session. We do not save them to our database, and we do not sell them or share them for advertising. Closing or refreshing the page clears them, so please download anything you want to keep.
2. What is processed, and where
- Writing requests: when you ask for a draft or rewrite, the relevant text is sent over an encrypted connection to an AI service only to produce that output. We do not keep a copy.
- Literature search: short keywords or topic terms are sent to public research databases (OpenAlex, PubMed, Europe PMC) to find real papers.
- Similarity and writing-pattern checks: the comparison of your text runs in your browser; only extracted keywords are used to search literature.
These outside services have their own privacy policies. Never upload personally identifiable patient information, protected health information, or research data covered by confidentiality agreements.
3. What we do store
- Administrator accounts (email and login details) used to manage the site.
- Testimonials that people have agreed to publish (name, affiliation, photo, review).
- A simple anonymous visitor count.
- Standard technical logs kept by our hosting provider for security and reliability.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use only essential browser storage (for example, keeping an administrator signed in and remembering display preferences). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
5. Children
The Service is intended for adult researchers and students and is not directed at children under 16.
6. Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
